These bowls have been thrown on my potter's wheel and then tin-glazed in the maiolica tradition. The patterns derive from drawings of cornflowers & they have been applied by brush work to the unfired glaze. I have impressed a tool into the rim of the bowl & then rubbed the glaze from the rim to allow the red of the underlying clay to break through the glaze.
