Have you ever wanted to be a potter? Why not try a 'One Day Workshop’ or a 'Coffee & Clay' taster session or a ‘One –to-one’ individual throwing lesson?
I offer a 'One Day Workshop' (10am to 4pm) for a group of four.
In the morning I like to give you a taste of several making techniques, but there is plenty of time to discuss techniques if you have specific plans. Bring a packed lunch & if it is a nice day you can sit outside & enjoy the view. In the afternoon, I demonstrate throwing a pot on the wheel -then I give each student an individual lesson, while the other students are decorating their pots.
The ‘One –to-one’ individual throwing lesson on the potter’s wheel is usually run for 2 hours. Bring a friend and you can both ‘have a go’.
I will dry your work slowly, then biscuit fire (this is the first firing) it in my kiln (at approx 1000°C). Then I will glaze the pieces, put the work back into the kiln where it will undergo the glaze firing (this is the second firing) at approx 1100ºC.
My charges include the use of all materials, & the biscuit & glaze firings of your pots, and of course tea & coffee.
I charge £220 to run the 'One Day Workshop' for a group of four people, which works out at £55 per person. For the 'Coffee and Clay'
taster I charge £15 per person (minimum charge £90). For the ‘One –to-one’ individual throwing lesson I charge £30 per hour.
I request payment preferably by online bank transfer prior to the workshop to secure your date of choice. Vouchers are also available to purchase gifts or workshops.
